Remove all food from insideTry to leave them in a low-temperature place, so they don’t break the cold chain. We recommend using freezing bags or portable refrigerators for this task. Although it’s also a good idea to plan the day you’re going to clean the fridge to have the least amount of food inside. You can also take the opportunity to check the condition of the food you have in both the refrigerator and freezer, reviewing that everyone is in good condition and have not broken down, producing germs and bad smells.
Here’s how to clean your refrigerator to make it easy for you to:
Remove trays and drawers.
You can clean if you want the inside of the refrigerator with all its equipment inside. However, it is much more comfortable to do so if it is empty. Trays, drawers, door shelves or even bottle racks and spindles are removable but don’t be tempted to clean any of this in the dishwasher to prevent them from deforming. For the perfect cleaning of trays and drawers, you only need soap and water with a neutral pH.
When the refrigerator is empty, is there a lot of ice or frost on the back wall?
Removing frost that can sometimes accumulate inside is also important. Normally, in cyclic refrigerator models (i.e. those that are NOT NoFrost), it disappears on its own after each automatic compressor cycle. Still, if this does not happen, you can check the temperature knob to check that it is not too high. If it is, you’ll have to reduce it by two or three degrees. In any case, do not use sharp objects to remove ice.
How do I clean the refrigerator inside?
First of all, pay special attention to the rubber on the door: it is a susceptible area. Clean only with clean water and dry thoroughly as soon as you’re doneYouou will only need a soft cloth, warm wat, er and a little dishwasher with a neutral for all other areas. If you do not want to doubt the products you are using, we make it very simple: use this specific cleaner, which serves both inside and outside and eliminates bad odours.
Cleaning the door
If the door is white, clean it just like you’ve done with the inside. However, if it is made of stainless steel, we recommend using a microfiber cloth with water and drying the surface with paper, always following the beta’s direction to avoid marks. You can also spray the steel surface with a mixture of water and mild or neutral detergent and then dry it with a paper towel, or use this steel-specific cleaning set, including oil-impregnated wipes, to restore the initial shine.
Once it’s clean inside, do you need some tricks to neutralize the odours in your fridge? By placing, for example, a cup with coffee perches, baking soda, a lemon cut with pricked cloves or even lemon juice, which is especially effective with this mission, you will be able to eliminate them and not always have to resort to a thorough cleaning.
