Mission, cut short: Mr. D.K. Chetsingh passes away

It is with profound sorrow that we got the news of Mr. D.K. Chetsingh's demise, today this morning.

Quite recently, in the year 2012, Mr. Chetsingh took over as the President of Lott Carey Baptist Mission in India. In the same year he became member of NCCI’s Programme Commission on Communications and Relations which he supported enthusiastically and through which he expressed his ecumenical concerns especially related to communication rights in India. Also he served as the Chairman of the Somerville School, Greater Noida.

In his stint of one and half year as President of LCBM India, there are number of achievements to his credit. He was instrumental in helping the Churches of various Christian denominations and communities in programmes of Education, Health and Welfare, particularly the HIV/AIDS survived orphans and (Evangelising) Ministry.

“For God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: As it is written, He had dispersed abroad; He had given to the poor: His righteousness remaineth for ever.” 2 Cor 9:8-9 (KJV)

We thank God for our fellow labourer in the Lord’s Vineyard who labored till his last breath without publicising his mission work and remember his family and his extended Church family in our prayers.
