COMMUNICATION AS RECEIVED BY NCC INDIA FROM CCA THROUGH LETTER DATED 1st APRIL 2014
CCA Member Churches and Councils
Greetings of the Lenten season,
Many of us are already aware of the current situation in Taiwan, related to the peaceful demonstration called the “318 Student Movement” also referred to by the media as the “Black Box” and “Sunflower Movement”.
The Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) issued a statement on 22 March in the form of an Appeal and Affirmation of the peaceful demonstration. However, the situation escalated after police were ordered to remove protesters from the Executive Yuan.
Rev. Lyim Hong-Tiong, General Secretary PCT would like to share with the member churches of CCA their statement expressing concern regarding the current situation in their community.
Let us uphold the churches in Taiwan in our prayers as they seek justice and peace for the people of Taiwan.
