The Catastrophe
On December 26, 2004, the world, as we knew it, was altered irrevocably. Far away from India, off the western coast of Indonesia, a plate of earth broke through layers of rocky resistance and created a rupture hundred of miles in length. Once begun, the rock tore apart like paper. The ocean floor collapsed in places and rose elsewhere, triggering massive upheavals of water, subsequently unleashing the Tsunami, which wreaked havoc across South Asia. Travelling from Indonesia down to the Indian coast, the Killer Tsunami devastated everything in its path, evoking an outpouring of humanitarian aid. People all over the world contributed their mite towards assuaging the suffering of the people.
